I have been messing around with sourdough for the last few months, and just came across an Instagram account called @sourdough_mania that has some of the sexiest sourdough ideas I have ever seen. Little chef and I created a new sourdough starter early this week and I wanted to make something with it on this beautiful […]
Blueberry Dumplings
Last week we asked for some recipe suggestions from all of our blog followers and we had so many fun responses! Because we had so many responses I decided to do more than one of the recipes. Last night I made Blueberry Dumplings. I have to admit it was my first time and I had […]

As promised, here is an update on our family cookbook! We spent the whole weekend cooking up a storm at Nana’s house and had our wonderful friend Amber owner of Amber Blaire Photography shooting the entire time. It was such a wonderful weekend, Little Chef was very excited that we cooked the whole weekend long. Usually we […]

To the New Mom
Like a dish cooked, seasoned, and plated, we are more than the sum of our ingredients and experiences. We are mothers. Mother’s who are changed and will change.
Quick and Easy Dinner – Breakfast Burritos

Pumpkin Pie and Family Favorites
Pumpkin pie is one of my favourite desserts, and the recipe from my “The Little House Cookbook” seemed like the perfect way to use the pumpkins we grew in our garden this year.
Funky Fermentation
Lately I have been dabbling in wild fermentation and had some amazing results. The most recent project has been a whole wheat sourdough starter that I have been making bread with. I Love You to the Ocean
Lately Little Chef has started saying “I love you to the ocean” and we are not sure where he picked it up. Maybe he created it from his book about the little nutbrown hare who says he loves his mommy to the moon, or from the skinnamarinky song. Who knows. Either way its so dang cute we melt to puddles every time he says it. We decided he needed to actually see the ocean to understand what he was saying.
Rack o’ Lamb
Some dishes are pure classics. Like a perfectly seared and roasted rack of lamb. Last week Jamie cooked us up a rack of the Ovation Lamb and it was on point, so I thought I would share the recipe with you lovely folks. Of course little chef and little sous chef wanted to be in […]
