Introducing the newest member of the Cultivating Foodies family, Felicity Rose. She joined us bright and early on September 14, 2018. This little bundle of sunshine arrived on the first snowstorm of the year, I had been having contractions off and on for days, I had been told 3rd babies like to mess around and […]

Fried Chicken and Waffles
Fried Chicken and Waffles has to be one of the world’s best comfort foods. It’s all decadent, and not healthy… just the way comfort food should be. I made this recipe last week because I was in serious need of some comfort food. It’s been a bit of a mad house around here lately with […]
A Sea of Support
This past week has had me thinking about human nature more than I care to admit. If you have been following along with Thor’s story you can see that we have had an emotional week. Emotional to say the least. But the emotions have also been surrounded by an amazing support. Not just from family […]
Bible Basics Book Review
Little Chef loves to read, most days he asks me to read him a story about 35 times between waking and finally going to sleep at the end of the night. I try to keep a full library of books available to him, but he always seems to gravitate to a few select favourites. Last […]
Pumpkin Pie and Family Favorites
Pumpkin pie is one of my favourite desserts, and the recipe from my “The Little House Cookbook” seemed like the perfect way to use the pumpkins we grew in our garden this year.

Last days as a duo
Today I am really feeling nostalgic for my last days as a mother of one. Maybe it’s because Little Chef has been the vision of happy perfection today {I better not jinx myself and he ends up a terror this afternoon}, or maybe it’s my due date with #2 fast approaching, but I feel like […]
Cheese Sticks and a bad attitude
Yesterday Little Chef was a grumpy little thing. I now realize it was because he was coming down with something because he had a case of the pukeys this morning. He had to call his Tante Lexi and tell her all about it because apparently that’s what we do in this family. Monday morning, I […]
Second Time’s the Charm
I knew in the back of my mind the second would be more difficult, but like anything with parenting I had no F&$%ing idea until I actually got there. Like this morning.
A Nod to the Classics
Some recipes are just plain old tried and true classics. Like the oatmeal cookie. The oatmeal cookie has played a starring role in the saga of my childhood. My Oma used to make these in giant batches and feed them to us when we came over to make crafts out of the strange things we […]
