Big 30

This year Jamie and I both turned 30. A big year for us. We have been married for 5 years, now have 3 kids, and a whole lot a chaos in our lives. But we have decided to try and just ride the wave and enjoy this super wild time in our lives.

For his birthday he wanted BBQ & Whiskey, so we lined up the smokers and went wild. I made him an apron for his birthday and he looks like quite the sexy chef in it if I can say so myself.

Little Chef of course was all over helping, and I had to snap a photo as he hauled the garbage out. It cracked me up, he looked like a real cook, hauling garbage to the dumpster with his apron on. I was half expecting him to sit down on a milk crate next and have a smoke. 😉 (totally kidding of course)

Lately Little Chef has been questioning the workings of the kitchen, and who reports to who. 4 year old’s are especially inquisitive creatures, and I often find myself running out of clever answers to his questions. If I can’t find an answer quick enough he says “I will ask Grandmas, she is smarter than you.” Thanks kid.

So last time we were cooking he decided that he was the chef and I was the sous chef. I decided what the heck and ran with it. He was a pretty fair boss, and gave me basic tasks like grating cheese and dishes. Apparently potato peeling was of the utmost importance, because he wouldn’t let me anywhere near that. Guess I need more training!

Little Sous Chef has grown a serious knack for kitchen work this past year as well and got a purple knife for Christmas. Because purple is life. All the purple, all the time. Before the party I caught her primping in the bathroom for the guests. She can be such a wild little child, and such a girly creature at the same time. I like her mix, it’s very rock n roll.

The happiest of birthday’s to my main man, mister Chef Daddy himself. And many many more!
